We’ve officially been on the move for over two weeks, so we figured it was finally time we set up the ol blog! Although we didn’t arrive in Maui until February 22, the unofficial start of our journey was February 6. Since we were heading west from New England on our way to Hawaii, we decided to take a few pit stops along the way!
First stop: Denver, CO. We visited some college friends and spent a wonderful weekend snowboarding at Arapaho Basin. Although Taylor had a (minor) mishap on a steep/icy trail which resulted in her snowboard flying down the mountain and her sliding down headfirst unable to stop, we had a great time! Before heading out to Cali, we were able to spend time with Tristan’s extended family and meet his cousins new baby twins. (Thank you Uncle Steve and Aunt Nancy for having us!)

Second stop: Los Angeles, CA. We visited with Taylor’s siblings and finally enjoyed some tee-shirt weather! We ate great food and basked in some west coast sunsets. We also may have spent way too much time playing Settlers of Catan (though neither of us won a single game… woof).

Third stop: San Francisco, CA. We visited with more family and friends including cousins on both sides of the family, and some high school friends. We took a ferry ride, went for a few spectacular runs, and ate a healthy dose of cheese and bread. It was hard to say bye to the last friends/family we would see for a while, but we are so grateful to be surrounded by so many generous and loving people.

Finally, on 2/22 we flew to Maui and the real adventure began! More updates to follow, stay tuned!

Hi Tristan and Taylor! May I just say that I am so excited to see the travelogue of your Pacific Trek! The Colorado stop sounds perfectly perfect. And SF no doubt great. Be safe, and know that sometimes “less is more.” Love, Auntie Julie
